Rewiring & Renovation Electrical
Kitchen and bathroom renovations, extensions, and full rewires for older Wembley and western-suburbs homes. Working with builders and homeowners to bring electrical systems up to modern standards.
Older homes deserve better than patched-together wiring from decades of changes. Whether you're renovating one room or the whole house, I do it properly.

From single-room renovations to whole-house rewires, I handle the electrical side of bringing older homes up to modern standards.
Kitchen Electrical
New circuits for oven, cooktop, rangehood. Additional GPOs, lighting, appliance provisions.
Bathroom Electrical
Exhaust fans, heated towel rails, lighting, shaver points. All properly rated for wet areas.
Extension Wiring
New rooms, granny flats, garage conversions. Full electrical fit-out from switchboard to fittings.
Partial Rewires
Replacing wiring in specific areas without a full house rewire. Often practical for targeted renovations.
Full House Rewire
Complete replacement of all wiring, switchboard upgrade, new circuits throughout.
Pre-Purchase Rewire
Older home purchase requiring electrical work before settlement or occupation.
How Renovation Electrical Works
Planning
Review renovation plans, assess existing wiring, identify what's needed.
Rough-In
Run cables, install boxes, prepare switchboard — before plastering closes up the walls.
Fit-Off
Install switches, power points, lights, appliances — after plastering and painting.
Testing & Certification

Signs Your Home Needs Rewiring
Many western-suburbs homes have wiring that's reaching the end of its safe lifespan.
Old Cable Types
Rubber-sheathed, cloth-covered, or aluminium wiring — all need replacing.
Frequent Trips
RCDs tripping regularly often indicate wiring insulation breakdown.
Burn Marks
Discolouration around outlets or switches signals dangerous overheating.
Renovation Access
Walls open for renovation is the ideal time to rewire affordably.
Pre-Purchase
Older home purchase often reveals wiring that needs attention.
Insurance
Some insurers flag older wiring types as risks requiring upgrade.
Renovation Electrical FAQs
When does a house need rewiring?
Signs include: cloth-covered or rubber-sheathed wiring, frequent RCD trips, burnt outlets, aluminium wiring, or a major renovation opening up walls. Houses built before the 1980s often have wiring that's degraded or doesn't meet current standards.
Can you work with my builder?
Yes — I coordinate with builders and other trades on renovation projects. Rough-in during the frame stage, fit-off after plastering. I'm used to working around other trades and keeping to a schedule.
Do you do kitchen rewires?
Yes — kitchen renovations often need significant electrical work: new circuits for oven and cooktop, additional power points, rangehood wiring, under-cabinet lighting. I do the lot.
How disruptive is a full rewire?
Depends on access. In a renovation where walls are open, it's straightforward. In an occupied home without renovation, we need to lift floorboards or go through the ceiling. I minimise disruption where possible.
